RPCN Announces Staffing Changes in the Mohawk Valley Region

Utica, NY – March 29, 2016 – Regional Primary Care Network (RPCN) announced staffing updates across its network of Community Health Centers in the Mohawk Valley Region.

George Markwardt, DNP, RN, BC, FNP-C has joined RPCN as its Clinical Director. George has worked as a nurse, administrator, nurse practitioner, teacher, and most recently, county legislator. With more than 25 years of healthcare experience and a longstanding commitment to rural and urban underserved populations, he is currently helping to get the Network’s newest site, Valley Family Health Center, in Ilion, NY, ready to open. Valley Family Health Center will offer medical services to all ages, with special emphasis on much-needed women’s services for southern Herkimer County. In his new role, Dr. Markwardt will help develop policies, procedures, and strategic planning initiatives. He will help develop the incentive plan and prepare staff for the new medical world in which payments for medical services will be based upon value (quality and price), rather than numbers of visits. Dr. Markwardt completed his Master’s Degree as a nurse practitioner at Stony Brook University and his doctoral work with Chatham University of Pittsburgh, PA.

Jasmina Miljkovic, who began as a Patient Access Associate in 2014 and was most recently Operations Coordinator, has been promoted to Practice Manager at Valley Family Health Center, in Ilion, NY.

A resident of New Hartford, NY, Miljkovic is looking forward to working in Ilion, NY and happy to have the opportunity to help serve Herkimer County. She is very excited to open a new health center, especially knowing how much the community needs it. Miljkovic is eager to put her management experience to use. She earned her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Care Administration from Utica School of Commerce in Utica, NY. She brings strong skills to the organization from her past management work history.
