Rushville Foodlink Mobile Pantry A Success

RUSHVILLE, NY – May 7, 2014 – Rushville Community Health Center (RCHC) announced that its first Foodlink Mobile Pantry Program was a success. A total of 640 people were served—that breaks down to 413 adults (85 of them seniors) and 227 children from 184 households.

The Foodlink Mobile Pantry will continue to be at Rushville United Methodist Church 26 N. Main St. Rushville, NY 14544 on the third Thursday of each month from 5pm – 7pm.

The Mobile Pantry provides communities with access to essential, nutritious food free of charge. Everyone 18 years of age and older will be helped on a first come, first served basis—regardless of income or where you live. And when more people show up, the pantry gets more food to meet the demand the following month—so stop by the next Mobile Pantry Thursday, May 15th.

Volunteers from Rushville Community Health Center, Rushville United Methodist Church, other Community Agencies, and community members will be on hand to assist participants with an assortment of grocery items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, and bakery items like breads and pastries.
