Louise Slaughter Receives NACHC 2014 Distinguished Community Health Advocate Award from Regional Primary Care Network
ROCHESTER, NY – Today, Regional Primary Care Network (RPCN) honored Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter (D-NY) with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) 2014 Distinguished Community Health Advocate Award for her continued support of Community Health Centers and her commitment to improving access to quality, affordable primary health care for the uninsured and underserved population in the Greater Rochester area. Earlier this term, Rep. Slaughter announced a $2.5 million grant for RPCN to provide health care in addition to $180,000 in federal money to help local residents sign up for affordable healthcare coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
“I’m honored to receive this award – but it is the people that make up these institutions who deserve the lion’s share of the praise,” Rep. Slaughter said. “Day in and day out, they embody our commitment to affordable health care for every American. They have worked tirelessly to provide our friends and neighbors with critical health care in times of real need. I’m proud to support their efforts in Congress and as long as I have a vote, I will continue to do so.”
